Mr. Scott Atkins is the Global Head of Restructuring and Insolvency at Norton Rose Fulbright and is based in Australia. He leads the firm’s global restructuring, turnaround and special situations practice, advising on some of the most complex cross-border restructurings, distressed M&A, insolvencies and workout situations across multiple jurisdictions. Scott advises banks, private equity funds, distressed investors, corporates, insolvency practitioners and boards on all aspects of financial distress, restructuring and enforcement strategies.

Mr. Scott has acted in several of the largest and most significant restructuring and insolvency matters in the Asia-Pacific region, including complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings involving Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, the US and offshore jurisdictions. His work spans court-supervised reorganisations, schemes of arrangement, voluntary administrations, liquidations, debt restructurings, and distressed acquisitions, and he is regularly instructed in matters involving financial institutions, infrastructure, aviation, energy, shipping and large corporate groups.

He is widely regarded as one of the leading restructuring lawyers globally and has been consistently recognised by international legal directories such as Chambers Global, Legal 500, IFLR1000 and Who’s Who Legal as a top-tier practitioner in restructuring and insolvency.
