Justice (Retd.) Shri Arjan Kumar Sikri is an eminent Indian jurist and former Judge of the Supreme Court of India. Born on 7 March 1954, he had an outstanding academic career, securing top positions throughout his law studies, including a Gold Medal in LL.B. and first position in LL.M. from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. He also served as President of the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, and earned numerous scholarships from his early schooling through postgraduate studies.

Justice Sikri enrolled as an Advocate in July 1977 and practised at the Delhi High Court, specializing in Constitutional matters, Labour–Service issues, Arbitration, Commercial law, and appearing for a wide spectrum of clients including public sector undertakings, banks, educational institutions, and private corporations. He was also a part-time lecturer at the Campus Law Centre, Delhi University from 1984 to 1989. He held leadership roles such as Vice-President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association and was designated a Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court in 1997.

He was appointed a Judge of the Delhi High Court on 7 July 1999, and later served as its Acting Chief Justice from October 2011. He was elevated as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 23 September 2012 and subsequently sworn in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 12 April 2013. He superannuated from the Supreme Court on 6 March 2019 as the senior-most puisne judge.

During his judicial career, Justice Sikri authored thousands of reported judgments across diverse legal fields and contributed to the development of commercial, constitutional, arbitration, mediation, and human rights jurisprudence. He was recognized internationally for his impact on intellectual property law, being named among the 50 most influential persons in that area by Managing Intellectual Property Association in 2007.

Since retirement, Justice Sikri continues to contribute to law and justice as an International Judge at the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) and holds multiple leadership roles in dispute resolution and regulatory bodies, including serving as Chairperson of the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA).

He is also actively involved in opinion work, mediation, and arbitration (domestic and international), and is associated with committees and boards focused on arbitration, online dispute resolution, content standards, and legal education.
